Thai Green Curry Shrimps

My neighbor Miss SP gifted me a packet of Thai green curry paste and I was like ahhhhh...what am I going to cook it with ? I have never cook green curry before !  I  have some shrimps and some beef in the freezer ....so be it  , shrimps will do. I wanted to cook the shrimps in rice wine actually but since my kind neighbor wanted me to tell her whether this paste is as good as recommended by her friend, I have to oblige her and cook green curry instead .

To do her a kind favor , I took home and cooked the shrimps with this packet of green curry paste. The trouble is I see her everyday, she will surely ask about it :p so to get it off my mind , I cooked the shrimps with it the next day and to my surprised it was good. Luckily I had some fresh coconut milk in the freezer and I had some thai basil at home. It was good and Jo had the most share. Young people are blessed , they get to eat more :p I may think I am 25 all the time , the mind can take it but the body just can't take in all these goodness , I took 2 pieces only so that I can give her a full review on it to Miss SP  :)))

The result was a pot of deliciousness...the fresh basil makes the paste much nicer of course. Gave it the boost and highlighted the taste of the green curry even more . I would say I will give it a 3.5 /5  star rating for a ready paste. I would prefer to make my own paste from scratch . I seldom use ready paste unless I am too lazy to prepare them :p  For those of you who would love to try it out , you can get them from the Cosway agent.  I can't tell you the price for a packet coz it is not polite for me to ask Miss SP :p it won't cost a lot. A few RM only...maybe RM4-5 :)  The secret is that you have to add in more fresh basil leaves and cook them in clay pot . The taste sensation would be greater  :O  The rest of the pictures below will tell you how good it is .  Have fun drooling, if you can't take the salivating anymore, then cook this LOL!

Have a great Monday and Bon Appétit !

  2. Looks delicious. We tend to cook with chicken, french bean, bamboo shoot and kaffir lime leaves/lemon grass. Another favourite of mine is green curry with mussels. It's super easy and super yummy!

  8. My friend gave me a few packets of Cosway paste too but I have yet to try it out yet. I should use it before it expire. You are right. Using this type of paste you need to add extra herbs to perk up the flavours.
