Salted Egg Yolk Seafood Tofu

I was too exhausted lately to think how to cook these store bought seafood tofu  and anyway I am running out of idea how to cook tofu  :p  These tofu  pieces are made with seafood paste. The texture is neither soft nor hard..it is a in between texture of firm tofu and fish paste but the  flavor of this ready made seafood tofu is great.  First time buying this tofu and I  cooked it the same way I cooked Salted Egg Yolk Shrimps and it turned out really nice.  Flavorful and aromatic...mmmmm delicious no doubt !  Anyway, anything cooked with salted egg yolk would be nice :)  even these tofu turned out delish !

This dish is simple in looks and simple to cook and simply delicious...I know I have said delicious all over and over again but truly it is simply AWESOME.   A poor man's dish  ...the whole dish costs me only less than RM5  LOL!   I bet restaurants haven't serve this dish yet...and I am sure it will be a great hit if they were to serve this dish in the restaurants.  So far, I have eaten...salted egg yolk french beans and chicken and shrimps ...yess many restaurants served that but tofu I have yet to come across it :)

12 pieces in a packet costs RM 3.80

lightly pan fry the tofu first, then add in the chopped garlic
bird's eye chillies and salted egg yolk and saute till
fragrant..

add in the curry leaves and continues
to stir fry till it is fragrant and the egg yolk mixture
is well coated on the tofu pieces

add in a pinch of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
dish up and serve hot

I can have these flavorful golden tofu all to myself  :)

Enjoy and have a great time with your family !

  18. Elin, me too, I like salted egg white & yolk. Sometimes I will even craved for it. Give me a hard boiled salted eggs and a bowl of white rice and I am very happy. With this dish, I think I need 2 bowls of rice.
