Beef Burger Patties

When you have meat eaters in the home, you tend to stock up meat in the freezer.  I would normally make beef patties and freeze them , so that whenever I am late home, I can just dump  them in the oven and by the time I am out of the bathroom, the patties are ready for Wild Boar to eat with his dinner :p   Baked ones are not oily and so much healthier .  Less washing too :)   Read on to see how I prepared them in advance for rainy days :p

mix all the ingredients together till mixture is sticky...
chill it in the fridge for at least an hour before shaping them
into patties size or  burger size

this tasty beef patty is packed with 
roasted bell peppers ,onions, black pepper, garlic
with 3 days old white bread to keep it moist and juicy

you can make in advance and freeze them can keep them
in the freezer for two weeks
stack them up with plastic liner in between each patty
so that it won't stick together 

you can coat the patties with  flour mixture 
( potato flakes ,baking powder,flour mixture )
before putting them to bake in the oven 

dust off extra flour - I forgot, which is 
why you see patches of white on the patties after baking :p )

my grill pan with detachable rack is so useful for this kind of baking
when you want your patties to have a crispy crust :)

smell so baking them in time and oil free

this is so delicious that I could not resist a piece myself :p

Beef Burger Patties


500 gm  lean ground beef 

1 yellow bell pepper  - roasted and chopped
1 red bell pepper  - roasted and chopped
1 green bell pepper - roasted and chopped
2 cloves of garlic -  finely chopped
1 red onions- dice into bit size 
2 slices of 3 days old white bread - dice into bit size

1 tbsp of worchestershire sauce
1 tbsp of dijon mustard
1 tsp of ground black pepper
a pinch of salt
1 tbsp of corn flour

( Mix together )

1/2 cup potato flakes
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
a pinch of salt


Mix the ground beef,  ingredient A and ingredient B together and stir with a pair of chopsticks till sticky .  Leave in fridge for an hour. Take it out and shape into patty size or burger size.  Coat with the patties with the flour mixture. Dust off extra flour and place the coated patties onto the grill pan with detachable rack.

Bake at 220 C for 35 minutes - flip the patties after 20 minutes of baking and bake till the patties are brown and cooked through.  

Serve on hamburger buns or as a dish stand alone with chilli dipping.

Note:  You can make them in advance and store them in container up to 2 weeks. Stack the patties with plastic liner in between .
