Stir Fry Fu Gui Cai With Sea Salt And Garlic

I have heard so much of this China ' fu gui cai' on facebook and out of curiosity, I bought some back from Tesco during the CNY period.  It was a bit pricey but seeing that it is quite light in weight, I decided to spend some money on it so that I could taste the real thing instead of imagining how this veggie would taste like :p

Some recommended stir fry with garlic and some stir fry with razor clams.  I prefer to stir fry with just salt and garlic and it turned out delicious.  It tasted like Bok Choy but the stem are more crunchy and sweet.  Love it !  It satisfied my curiosity and if not for the price, I would love to it to my daily diet  :)  Simple dish and I am easily satisfied :p

this is how fu gui cai looks like before cooking

after cooking it still looks crisps and fresh :)

Family Dinner @52 Restaurant , Semenyih, Selangor

salted egg yolk coated squid rings....yummy!

WB, Piggy Josh and I went to Semenyih to meet up with Piggy Jo and SL and we had lunch at our favourite restaurant. It is called Restoran 52, they offer good dishes and we like their Salted Egg Yolk Coated Squid Rings, their signature dish Ribs In Guiness Stout and not to forget their signature Claypot Curry Fish Head.  This restaurant is where we normally have our dinner when we are there but of late my gal and her other half have found another restaurant which I will share with you later.  For the time being, just drool over what we ordered for our dinner when we were there :)

Oven Baked Potato Wedges

The first thought would be...gosh, this is calories loaded but on second thought these delectable finger food is oven baked, thus healthier than deep frying :p  Okay okay I am in denial mode :) Whatever ...these are so good that I will make this again if the cravings comes again.   I don't make a lot. Just enough for WB and myself...so that is about a cup each :p okay okay....I have to take care of my diet but cravings for such addictive finger food is beyond control....eat first and sweat out later ! Talking about sweating out, after retirement two weeks ago, I have  been on an excessive exercise training and muscles are still aching.  Let me digress a bit here.  A friend recommended me to this magnetic jewelry that can helps relief pain and helps speed healing of the tissue.  Check it out here at www.superiormagnetics.com if you are interested to know what these magnetic bracelets can do for you.   For me exercise will have to continue seeing the way I am eating these days.  The weight machine shows an increase in weight LOL!

Steamboat At Home - Toast To A New Journey :)

Time flies....the day that I had waited finally arrived.  That was 30th January 2015...the last day of my working life. Yay!  I am set free from a time bound routine life.  My boss and colleagues gave me a very warm farewell lunch at Excelsior Hotel and I received many gifts. One of gifts was a Philip Induction Cooker...something that I wanted very much :p   and today it served us well :)

WB and I celebrated my new journey with steamboat at home.  We bought our favourite food and had a hearty warm dinner......really warm due to the hot and humid weather LOL! but no worry...the air con is in full blast :p and what more free flow of beer to cool down the body heat ;p  Anyway , to cut the story short, we had a really good time tucking in the food cooked on the induction cooker that comes with a multi purpose stainless shallow pot - just perfect for a steamboat !  A toast to a new journey in life for the both of us.  Finally I can be a full time housewife !  Hip hip hooray !!!!! more homecooked food from now on :) Super duper happy that I can have a timeless routine lifestyle...no more alarm clock !  Isn't that wonderful ?
