Steamed Tilaipa With Sarawak Laksa Paste :)

Have you tried steamed fish with those ready made paste?  I have tried it with the Penang Nyonya paste and it has made steamed fish more appetizing not to mention the time and energy saving goodness :)  Does this dish makes you drool...I bet it will :)  And guess who sent this to Claire and myself ?   Haha , I guess when I mentioned Sarawak or Sibu more ' tepat' you would have guess who !   Yea...it was ....................................

When Arthur Wee of Still Crazy After All These Years ,  sent me a packet of these lips smacking good laksa paste thru Claire , I was already thinking of using this paste for my steamed fish.  I have reserved a bottle for Claire's mom :)  I just have to add  ginger flower ( bunga kantan ) and lemongrass ( serai ) to the paste and add  chopped pineapple as garnishing and I have a lip-smacking good steamed dish.   The paste went very well with the ginger flower and pineapple..giving it the extra oomph to the dish!  Thank you Arthur Wee ,for this paste.  The paste will last me a few months and I am sure my Piggy Jo will love this dish.

I will normally steam the fish for 5 minutes on high heat before adding the paste and continue to steam for another 4 to 5 minutes till the fish is properly cooked through.  For a medium size fish, I will normally steam for 8 -10 minutes on high heat.   I love the ginger flower fragrant in the paste....it was so good that I will use this paste for my steam fish in the next few months.    This paste will make my life easier...save the cutting and pounding the ingredients :p

Thank you Arthur Wee for the paste

Sorry for not making this into laksa....
I love it more on steamed fish and prawns :)

Have a nice day.......

Would probably be great for fried rice...or for cooking meat or prawns perhaps. Hmmm...must experiment. If nice, will share in my blog, if not nice, I just keep quiet. Hehehehehehe!!!!!

    1. Lena....I used to buy Sing Long paste too . This laksa paste is stronger in smell and flavor, not meant for fish so have to add bunga kanthan, serai and pineapple for a more refreshing flavor :)
