Tofu Pizza














I have to thank Robert Gilles for sharing this wonderful tofu pizza recipe with me . Simply delish! A healthy food indeed.

You are becoming Japanese!
One simple recipe for tofu:
Put one slab on a a piece of baking paper on the oven plate. Cover it with hot tomato/ketchup sauce, some very finely cut vegetables and covr the lot with shredded cheese:
Tofu pizza for vegetarians!

These are the ingredients I used for my Tofu Pizza

Ingredients:

1 slab of silky tofu
salt to taste
tomato paste,
1 tablespoon olive oil

My choice of vegetables

1/2 capsicum- cut finely
1/2 aubergine - cut finely
a few oyster mushrooms - cut finely
crabstick filament - shredded
a few cherry honey tomato - cut into slices

lots of shredded cheese ( I use mozzarella )

dry oregano * optional

  4. @ skinnymum: I baked at 180 degC..it also depends on your oven. So for the first time you gonna check, if too hot you gonna reduce to 170 degC. Hope you will like it too! :)

    @ ICook4Fun : Haha Gert, I never knew that baked tofu taste nice till Robert shared this recipe wif me :) Hope you will like it too. Put in more cheese and oregano...delicicious is the word.

  6. that's new. never seen this anywhere. can imagine the silky smooth tofu paired with the cheesy fillings.

    though normal crust would be better, i presume?

    Oh..you shld try it out if you are the adventurous type lo.^ * It is yummilicious if you like tofu and cheese. They blends well surprisingly... and the tofu remains silky soft and moist despite in the oven for 20 mins :p

    note: make sure your toppings has enuf salt :)

    By the way, I'm preparing a posting on how to make your won tofu!
    In Japan, people sometimes use tao imo grated to a liquid consistence calle "tororo jiru", They then mix it with cheese and spices, pour it abundantly on top of a large piece of tofu and bake it inthe oven. The tororo will change completely when cooked with the cheese and forma crusty yummy cover over the hot tofu!
