Lemongrass Light Soy Sauce Seafood Stew Nyonya Style

This is my MIL's signature dish recreated by her son , the Wild Boar for our dinner.  WB likes to spring surprises on me..a new streak in him lately... to my delight of course :)  When he is off duty , he will play in the kitchen and spring a new dish on me and help conserve my energy for my baking :p.  He took over the kitchen and rummaged through the freezer and stole all my seafood  to make this wonderful flavorful nyonya dish.   Frankly speaking, I do not know the name of this dish, neither does he !  LOL!

I wish my MIL was around to tell us the name of this dish :(  Anyway , this is a great dish, bursting with a very exotic flavor and the aroma of the lemongrass takes first place and the rest of the ingredients are onions, garlic , green chillies , red chillies and light soy sauce and eating this reminded WB of his mother's cooking. He recreated this nyonya dish with a piece of dory fish, shrimps and one Ikan Kembung /Indian Mackerel with the mentioned ingredients. He will first prepare the stew soup by boiling the mentioned spices till it gives out a fragrant aroma . 30 minutes before he off the heat, he adds in the seafood and simmer under low heat ,  till all the seafood are cooked.  The original recipe uses fish only.  By the time he off the heat, the gravy would have turned slightly thicker and the sweetness from the seafood makes this dish...delicious , hot and flavorful !

* I invited WB to guest post this but unfortunately he is  busy at the moment , so I will just lightly introduce you to this delightful dish he cooked :)

Have a great day!
