Pasta With White And Brown Button Mushrooms - One Dish Meal

Anything pasta will do for us especially with lots of fresh shrooms in it :)  For me , a one dish meal would be perfect especially when the other half is not well.  Yeah....Wild Boar was down with flu the last few days.  Fever and followed by cough :(  So , I was the stay-at-home housewife for the last few days  !  I have my driving licence in my wallet all the time but my driving skill is rusty - I have been chauffered around all these years , so for the sake of the other drivers on the road , it is better I stayed away from the steering wheel  :p ( yeah , I know how helpless I can be when I can't drive myself around - always depending on WB -  now the driver is sick ....I have to stay at home most of the time :p  ) I wish I could turn back the clock...haih wishful thinking on my part.....

Thus, I just cooked what I have in the fridge and luckily I had two packets of fresh button mushrooms and I cooked this pasta with the shrooms.   Easy and no fuss preparation -end result something yummy and filling !

Threw in some crab stick filaments besides the fresh shrooms and a sprinkle of dried mixed herbs for extra flavor . Boy, it was great ! and this dish really whet WB's appetite , after two days straight of  porridge !  I can have this everyday....love pasta and shrooms of any kind.  For this one dish meal, you can use any kind of pasta for it. Fettucine and spaghetti would be fine too :) A very versatile pasta meal :)

love the fresh  button mushrooms better than the can ones

love the aromatic garlic and mixed herbs flavor

Pasta With White And Brown Mushrooms

Ingredients:

1 cup of cooked pasta of your choice - I use Farfalle

8 pieces of fresh white and brown button mushrooms - cut into thick slices
3 crabstick filaments - julienne
3 pips of garlic - finely chopped
1 tsp of dried mixed herbs
1 tsp of ground black pepper
1 tbsp of olive oil
salt to taste

Method :-

Boil enough water to cover the pasta and cook pasta until al dente . Drain and keep aside.
Saute garlic with olive oil in a non stick pan till fragrant, add in the mushrooms slices, crab filaments and continue to stir fry till the mushrooms and crab filaments are cooked through. Add in the cooked pasta , mixed herbs and black pepper and salt till all ingredients are mixed well.  Dish up and serve hot.
