Baked NZ Mussels With Garlic Cheese And Dills

" This is my entry for the Christmas Giveaway hosted by Swee San of The Sweet Spot "

Christmas is just five days away and I still have not come up with idea of what we would like to have for Christmas dinner- main course . Maybe I have to ask my wild boar for ideas as to what to serve for dinner or rather I have to delegate that task to him.  But for now, I would like to share with you this mouth-watering baked NZ mussels with garlic, cheese and dill. A lovely and flavorful starter that you can serve for your coming Christmas dinner :))  I  have to try this out before the Christmas dinner and after Jo and myself  had savored it , we would definitely want this for our starters for our Christmas dinner...yeah one dish named, the main course, I will leave it to my wild boar. Jo will have to come up with one dessert ...yeah less one job for me  !  read on for the recipe :)

Garlic is the most important ingredient in this baked mussels. Chopped garlic mixed with dried italian mixed herbs and olive oil makes the magic potent for the mussels...and the grated mozzarella cheese and dill makes it even more flavorful.

Dashes of cayenne pepper on the mussels for some spicy taste
and the whole combination was awesome....
these mussels from NZ were quite meaty
and I love them baked instead of
stir frying them with the seafood sauces.

succulent and fresh NZ mussels......
waiting to be put into the oven

top them with lots of grated mozzerella and chopped dills

a tray full of mouth-watering mussels waiting to be baked.........
Jo and myself can't wait to savor them..LOL!

Finally , they came out of the oven smelling so good
and they tasted so good that
Jo and myself ....mmmmmmmm-ing away
or you can say we were oinking softly away
incase the wild boar lectured us on
table manners.......ho ho ho ho.......

  2. I bet they must smell amazing when they come out of oven! If you added some fresh breadcrumbs to the grated cheese and dill it would make a very nice crunchy topping on your mussels. I love meaty NZ mussels too!

  11. Your recipe looks delicious, and the New Zealand Mussels are beautiful with their green shells. The combination of the baked mozzarella & garlic must put it over the top! I'll have to try this with our local Blue Mussels.
