Yesssss…it’s DURIANS season and most Malaysians love this King of Fruits :) Of course the Piggies clan is not to be left out in this feast. Daddy bought some back ( he can never resist this fruit :p ) so Momsie gets to keep some ( a tupper of it…yay…. ) for her bakes. But for the time being I just eat it with crèpes …haha a fusion of French and Asian equal to mouth-watering dessert! Hehehe…. I kept a tupper ( sealed it tight and keep in the fridge ) for future bakes…will be busy searching for something yummilicious enough to bake. So stay tuned for some durian goodness ^ *
The crèpes recipe is from Angie’s Recipes and she has lotz of nice goodies on her blog. Thanks, Angie for sharing this wonderfully soft crèpe recipe :) The durian photos below are for my Piggies to feast on before they get to savour them...hehehehe I am most wicked where this is concern. Piggies will get to feast on them when they next come back , the durians season is just on... LOL!
" King of Fruits " in Malaysia :p
eat with the crèpes ...a slice of heaven no doubt :)))
all to myself (",)

I just had durian with glutinous rice. But never try durian with crepes before. :)
ReplyDeleteDear Elin!
ReplyDeleteGreetings!
I've heard that Durian has a very strong and strange smell (understatement!)>
How do you proceed to get rid of the smell?
Or does it go away naturally?
Cheers,
Robert-Gilles

ReplyDeleteIt's a love-or-hate fruit, you know, like blue cheese, and chou dou fu (tofu that stinks like hell) if you cann't stand it, then just can't.

ReplyDelete@shizuokagourmet : Dear Robert, durians do have a strong and wonderful smell...mmmm much better than those blue cheese and fermented tofu ( aptly described by Angie ) :) The taste is creamy rich and sweet...at times you get the bitter sweet ones....mmmm délicieux !!! You either love it or hate it. Asian loves the smell of durians...LOL and there is no way to rid the pleasant smell..it will go away naturally. BUT the bad thing is when you BURP...the smell is horrible...I agreee :)
