Pineapple Tarts (1)

I have been procrastinating again. I had planned to make these tarts for CNY last weekend but have been postponing till last night. Finally, got it done :)) Tried a new recipe . Taste wise it was good but the shape was a bit out after baking :( Especially after brushing on the egg glaze…but overall it was satisfactory. For a one- woman show, it was easy task.

I had fun piping it out and it was great practicing my piping skills…..join me in baking this tarts if you have not baked these gems for the coming CNY. Have fun!

Pineapple Tarts
Ingredients:
(Make 50 pieces )

Ready made pineapple paste – (from cake shop )

100 gm butter
30 gm powdered sugar
1 egg yolk
½ tsp vanilla essence

160 gm plain flour
10 gm milk

Egg glaze
1 egg yolk
½ egg white

Method:
Cream butter and powdered sugar till fluffy, add in egg yolk and vanilla essence. Add in the flour and milk last. Use a piping nozzle , pipe into a flower on parchment paper , ½ inch apart and egg glazed it. Put pineapple paste on top of the piped flower. Bake at 170ยบ C for 15- 20 minutes.

  1. So clever of you to pipe the tarts instead of making the usual open or closed style. Piping them is faster right? I guess you are going to make more pineapple tarts soon. :)

Wishing you and your family an Ox-picious New Year! :)
